“While I applaud them for taking advantage of every opportunity, I have to disagree with some of the standard thinking that comes from people my age.”

I’m constantly surrounded by people soaking in their perfect college experience. And, while I applaud them for taking advantage of every opportunity, I have to disagree with some of the standard thinking that comes from people my age.

The majority seem to think that BEING Young & Twenty doesn’t feel like being an adult. While some spend these years partying, some spend their years trying to figure out their life plan.

I am part of both groups.

I know what I want to do when I graduate. My boyfriend and I know where we want to move. We know how long we want to wait until we get married and have a family. And we both know that we don’t want to wait as long as society wants us to.

We’re okay with that.

If you know what you want, you know how to get it… then why wait?

As a 20-something, you’re an adult, whether or not you feel like one. That means that YOU get to decide how to live. If you want to party, drink, smoke, get married, have a baby, or move across the country: it’s your choice to make.

Live your life the way you want to live it and be true to yourself. It’s so easy at this age to be swayed by what everyone else, or even your family or parents believe. What’s most important is to figure out what you believe.

Hi Jazz! I agree. Alisha’s post left me feeling the same way. Living life how we want it, when we want it seems to be the best strategy *fingers crossed*
