“I want to focus on what I do have to be grateful for instead of wishing I had a stronger career or was finished with university already or whatever else I stress about.”

BEING Young & Twenty has been rocky, but I’ve learned a lot from my struggles.

I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in my early 20’s and have been since dealing with multiple mental diagnoses. I don’t let this stop me, though. I am a creator, an artist at heart – a photographer, a writer, a poet, a blogger.

At the current age of 25, I am still a little lost.

I recently moved to a new city in a new part of the country because my fiancé started school here. I haven’t made many friends, yet. I’ve been putting a lot of effort into my photography business but it’s difficult because of how often we will have to move during the next 5 years for his career. I am determined, though.

And I’m lucky.

I’m lucky that I have a great psychiatrist to help me manage my mental illnesses, I am lucky to have a fiancé who loves me at my most ugly.

So far, I’ve been lacking gratitude.

I want to focus on what I do have to be grateful for instead of wishing I had a stronger career or was finished with university or whatever else I stress about.

I want to focus on gratitude.

Several people I admire have told me positivity will bring more good things into my life, and I want to believe them, so I am going to try to follow their examples.
