“I thought people who loved me would never leave me. We would watch each other grow old and share happiness in our milestones.”

I have many ideas of how life will be as I start the 3rd decade of my life.

I thought people who loved me would never leave me. We would watch each other grow old and share happiness in our milestones.

I thought the friends I made during school would be my forever friends. That the 3 musketeers bond would never be broken.

I thought that by 20 I would have met my soulmate and be deeply in love. We’d be married and expecting 2 children within the years to follow. But with university being my chosen path, it’s growing clear that this will most likely not be the case.

I’m ok with this.

The truth is, I don’t feel old enough to even be at college never mind starting the most important part of my life.

Let’s use all the love and hope we grow up with, to make the most of our 20s, instead of holding the world accountable for being a twisted place.

I want to take my time in growing up. Not rushing into the sweet things life allows us. I’m ready to embrace all life has to offer me.

BEING Young & Twenty is making mistakes.

BEING Young & Twenty is loving as much as you can as often as you can.

I have a degree in mathematics, so I have to say good for you for correctly calling your 20s your third decade. I had a friend who posted on Facebook on her 20th birthday something about entering her second decade, and I said you look really mature for only being 10.

HAHA! Oh Dennis. I can see how it can throw a few people off, but third decade is correct.
