“It is almost laughable how more mature and confident I am now compared to when I was 20. In the span of 2 years, I have grown so much I sometimes cannot recognize the woman I am becoming.”

BEING Young & Twenty has taught me that it is okay to not be okay.

As children, we create this fantasy of what life should be like and when we reach that age we want to reach a specific goal, we get disappointed.

Growing up, I structured this ideal world of what my 20’s should be like it and when my 20’s approached, I became disappointed in myself.

My advice is not to put an age on your goals.

It is common to believe that you have to be 18 to go to college, graduate when your 22, somehow find a job that fall, be married at 25, and pop out 2.5 kids by 30.

Occasionally, this works for some people but if this does not happen for you, it is okay. Life takes us all on a journey and we all experience our own obstacles and challenges that lead us towards various prospects.

In my opinion, your 20’s are the time for growth.

I am 22 now and it is almost laughable how more mature and confident I am now compared to when I was 20. In the span of 2 years, I have grown so much I sometimes cannot recognize the woman I am becoming in the mirror.

Go out and have an adventure!

-Get lost in the city

-Book a trip to a foreign country

-Write in a journal

-Take a cooking class

-Get a funky haircut

Yes, your 20’s can be scary. The world is our oyster and you probably do not know what a 401k is but I promise you, you are not alone in your doubts.
